The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management alongside his counterpart in the State Department for Energy Mr. Alex Wachira attended a high level consultative meeting co-chaired by Cabinet Secretaries Hon. Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum) and Hon. FCPA John Mbadi (The National Treasury) at Kawi House, Nairobi.

The meeting was aimed at discussing areas of collaboration in the establishment and financing of the first of its kind, nuclear power plant set to be put up in Siaya county.

The leaders were joined by senior government officials from the two Ministries, Nuclear Power and Energy Agency (NuPEA) and the Kenya Electricity Generating Company Plc (KenGen).

Hon. Mbadi called for robust public participation to enable the local community understand the significance and the magnitude of the ambitious project.

He reiterated the steadfast support from the National Treasury to enable Kenya become self sufficient in clean energy.
