PS WAGUNDA JOINS DP KINDIKI DURING THE 25TH AGM OF ATIDI
The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda alongside colleague PS for The National Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo accompanied the Deputy President Prof Kithure Kindiki during the 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the African Trade and Investment Development Insurance (ATIDI) held at a Nairobi hotel.
Prof Kindiki congratulated ATIDI on the significant milestone of celebrating it's silver jubilee saying they have demonstrated that derisking investments is one of the most effective ways of attracting long-term capital into African economies.
He noted that Kenya has benefited immensely from her partnership with ATIDI in multi-million dollar projects in the country in various sectors including transport, manufacturing, financial services, agriculture and infrastructure.
"Some of the flagship projects supported by ATIDI include the Lake Turkana Wind Power project, Kipeto Wind Power project, Menengai Geothermal project among others. All these projects have cumulatively delivered clean energy to over half a million households," said the Deputy President.
He stated that the government believes in transforming the society from the bottom of the economic pyramid through the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA) adding that government resources alone cannot finance the development aspirations thus there's need to continue strengthening investments avenues that can attract private capital.
