PS WAGUNDA MEETS SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION TEAM IN PREPARATION FOR e-GP PHASE TWO ROLL-OUT
The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda today met the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System implementation team comprising officials from the State Department as well as system developers at Treasury Building.
During the follow-up meeting arising from a similar one held last week, the PS outlined the importance of the System phase two roll-out in enabling government agencies conduct procurement activities electronically thus improving transparency, and accountability in the public sector.
He urged the team to expedite the e-GP phase two rollout to enable procuring entities prepare their annual procurement plans on the System.
He reiterated that this step will help procuring entities achieve faster procurement cycles, shorter delivery period and enhanced efficiency in government procurement.
The PS also called for deepened collaboration among the teams with a results-oriented approach for consistency in achieving set objectives.
In attendance were; Director of Public Procurement Mr. Eric Korir, key officials representing the e-GP system developers amongst other officials from both teams.
