OPTIMISING PENSIONS ASSETS MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE DELIVERY
The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management, Mr. Cyrell Wagunda, convened a high-level consultative meeting with Senior Officials of Pensions Department Kenya led by the Pensions Secretary Mr. Michael Kagika, to review operational efficiency and the progress of the implementation of the new Electronic Pensions Management Information System (ePMIS) that is currently being piloted.
The session focused on aligning pension administration with the State Department’s mandate of safeguarding public resources through transparency and accountability. The PS noted that pensioners should be served with integrity and dedication to ensure that their dues are settled in a timely manner to enable them enjoy their retirement.
The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the State Department’s support for the Pensions Department’s broad reform agenda. The PS noted that the success of ePMIS will be a critical component of the "One-Government" approach, where technology and inter-departmental synergy work together to enhance the quality of service delivery and safeguard public resources in honor of the service rendered by retired citizens.

The PS undertook to build the capacity of the staff at the Pensions Department to enhance their morale and productivity.
