PS WAGUNDA APPEARS BEFORE FINANCE AND NATIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY
The Principal Secretary for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda today appeared before the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning to present overview of the budget implementation status for the State Department both financial and non-financial report for the 2025/26 Financial Year.
The PS told the Committee chaired by Homa Bay Town Member of Parliament Hon. Peter Kaluma that the State Department has made significant milestones including mobilizing private capital investment under the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) framework amounting to Ksh. 40 billion for the construction (Early Works) of Nairobi- Nakuru -Mau Summit Road.
He added that, PIAM has rolled-out 6 Asset registers for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and 14 Asset registers for Counties. This enhances verifiability and optimization of government Assets.
"I am glad to report that, Pensions Department successfully processed 5,949 fully documented and authenticated pensions claims within the 60 days’ timeline between July 2025 and March 2026 2026. Additionally, we provided privatization advisory leading to successful listing of KPC at the Nairobi Securities Exchange," said the PS.
He affirmed that, his State Department rolled out the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) System and the re-engineered Pensions Management Information System (PMIS) both aimed at enhancing the efficiency and transparency of service delivery.
The PS was accompanied by the various Chief Executives and Heads of Departments in the State Department.
