PS WAGUNDA PROMISES SH72 MILLION FOR HIS FORMER PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Principal Secretary, State Department for Public Investments and Assets Management Mr. Cyrell Wagunda today met the community and parents from his former school, Wasio Primary School to lay out an ambitious Sh72 million development plan being mooted by various stakeholders to enhance the image of the school.
The plan which has received a major boost from MPESA Foundation includes demolishing the existing structures and replacing them with 18 new classrooms for Grade one to nine, four classrooms for Early Childhood Development (ECD) Education, fully equipped science laboratory and a 40-seater Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub.
The project shall also encompass 14 units of ablution block for boys & girls, landscaping the entire school by fixing cabros, 50-litre water storage tank, concrete fencing and a modern kitchen.
In his remarks, the PS said the significant facelift is intended to enhance learning ecosystem and thereby improve academic performance of the institution.
"I have approached people of goodwill who have agreed to support our quest and which has been endorsed by the Ministry of Education. We want to change the image of the school to make it a premier institution in the region thereby attracting learners from far and wide and eventually improving on academics," said the PS.
The community leaders gave a resounding approval of the project and thanked the PS for the continued support.
